In order to become a licensed plumber in Ohio you will first need to pass the Business and Law Exam which is required to become a licensed plumber in Ohio.

To get the required approval from the State Board applicants should meet the following requisites:

  • Have 5 years experience in the classification desired or have been an engineer with 3 years of experience in construction.
  • A $25.00 license fee, and individuals must also send proof of $500,000 minimum contractor liability insurance.

With a plumbing contractors license in Ohio, the holder of the license is allowed to perform covers plumbing work including:
sanitary drainage, water supply, storm drainage, and natural gas piping and more.

Applying to get your Plumbing License

To apply for a plumbers license in Ohio you have to complete the license application and send it allong with a $25 application fee made payable to the Treasurer, State of Ohio at the address listed below. The license application fee is nonrefundable. Upon receipt of your application, the OCILB will determine if you are eligible to take the examination.
