Nevada Plumbing License Requirements

Nevada law requires plumbing contractors operating inside Nevada to hold either a Nevada State Contractors Board issued C-1 Plumbing and Heating Contractor License or a C1D Nevada Plumbing Contractor License.

Requirements to Get a NV Plumbers License

In order to become a licensed plumber in Nevada, you will need to pass the exam administered by the Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners.

C-1 Journeyman Plumber License

Applicants for the C-1 Journeyman Plumber License all need at least 4 years’ experience with a minimum of 8,000 hours experience in the plumbing trade.

C-1 Master Plumbers License

For master plumber license you will need to have held your journeyman license for a period of at least 2,000 hours.

C-1D Plumbing Contractor License

All applicants for a C1D Plumbing Contractor license must have at least 4 years of experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervisor or contractor within the past 10 years to qualify for a license. Applicants must also submit 4 reference certificates concerning their work experience and submit to a background check. In order to get started, your business will need a Nevada Business ID number issued by the Secretary of State. What Work Can be Done Under this License

The installation of boilers including all related fittings, piping, valves, gauges, pumps, radiators, convectors, tanks and lines. The installation and maintenance of:  drainage systems, hydronic heating systems, irrigation systems, water heating systems. In addition, a person who holds a subclassification C-1d license may install piping for water and gas beginning at the edge of a building and ending at the utility meter for that building.

There are plenty of plumbing schools that offer a great plumbing education in Pennsylvania. Some colleges provide only online classes while others teach on campus.
