To become a licensed Journeman Plumber or Master Plumber in Michigan you will have to meet the following requirements.
Journeyman Plumber License
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must have at least 3 years experience as an apprentice plumber under supervision of a master plumber.
- Applicants must pay the examination fee and pass the examination.
- Applicants must pay the license fee
Master Plumber License
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must have at least 2 years experience as a licensed journey plumber.
- Applicants must pay the examination fee and pass the examination.
- Applicants must pay the license fee.
Work that can be Done Under this Plumbing License
A licensed master plumber in Michigan can perform all aspects of plumbing, utility connections, irrigation systems, as well as gas piping to water heaters, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, gas grills, and swimming pool heaters. A licensed journeyman plumber in Michigan can perform the same work but only under the supervision of licenced master plumber.
