Inside the State of Connecticut a Plumbers License is required for all persons that offers to the public services in Plumbing and piping and/or irrigation system contractor and well drillers. The plumbing and pipefitting license is required to perform plumbing and piping work including irrigation systems. The Well Drillers and Well Casing License is required to construct a well including but not limitied to the installation, repair and maintenance of pumps.

Requirements for the Journeyman Plumbing License

Before you can become a journeyman plumber, you must finish an apprenticeship or  have proof of a comparable number of work hours. After completing the apprenticeship you will become eligible to take the journeyman plumbers exam, the apprentice has to submit proof of a completed an approved apprenticeship program or proof of equivalent experience and training, along with an application fee, and the required application documents to PSI licensure certification (PSI).

Requirements for the Connecticut Plumbing & Pipefitting License

The journeyman plumber must have a copy of a current respective journeyman license that has been held for at least 2 years.  Applicant seeking consideration of 'equivalent experience and training' shall document that experience and training and be interviewed by the CT Plumbing Board to have such training evaluated.

Apply for a P-1 Unlimited Plumbing License

A P-1 Unlimited Plumbing Contractor may do all plumbing and piping work as defined in Section 20-330 of the Connecticut General Statutes. The requirements to qualify for this license all appplicants need to have two (2) years as an unlimited licensed journeyperson or proof of equivalent experience and training.
