State of Alabama Plumbing License Requirements
For an Apprentice Certification there are no state licensing exams required. All that is needed to obtain a plumbing apprentice cetification is a complete registration form and a copy of your social security card.
The fee for a plumbers apprenticeship is $25 for the initial application and after that $10.00 (Annually).
* Apprentices can only work under the supervision of a registered journeymen plumber or masters plumber.
Alabama Journeyman Plumbers License Requirements
In order to take the journeyman plumbers exam you will first need to complete a "board approved" apprenticeship training program or have worked for at least two years as an apprentice plumber under the supervision of a registered master plumber. The fee for a journeyman license in Alabama is $110 and the fee for renewing the license is $30. Licenses expire on December 31.
Alabama Master Plumbers License Requirements
The board issues master and journeyman licenses and each requires you to pass an exam. You need one year of work experience as a journeyman plumber to qualify for the master plumbers exam. The fee for a master plumber license is $160 and the fee for renewals is $125. Licenses expire on December 31.
