The core concept is this: A contractor’s revenue doesn’t actually come from maintenance plans and service calls. That work, in fact, just represents cost (labor cost, supplier costs, etc.). No, revenue really comes from properly managing the work and sending out the bill. The invoice is what really gets a contractor paid, and the invoice is really just information collected from the field.
If that information isn’t accurate, the contractor is missing billable items: time, materials, other upcharges, or even opportunities for return visits and upsells.
